Amnesty Club Donates to Community in Need
Amnesty Patana is a Community Action Club at Bangkok Patana school. One of the club’s main goals and objectives this year was to make a more significant impact on our community, as we are a CAT Club mainly based on campaigning to raise awareness. With this objective , we made the decision to put together a donation to commemorate International Women’s Day. Through our amazing associates at Amnesty Thailand, we were in a position to get in touch with with the Association for the Promotion of the Status of Women (APSW), an organisation that seeks to promote equal rights and justice to those who are victims of forced prostitution, mental abuse, rape, and also has an emergency refuge for women and children located in Don Mueang.
To help assist APSW, Amnesty Patana club organised a school wide donation, gathering up food and items, such as milk, cleaning supplies and vital cooking ingredients, that the shelter wanted. Many families made it possible by donating and Amnesty Patana has been able to collect 34 boxes of donation items.
Bangkok Patana staff made certain that the donations were supplied to APSW in a secure and careful manner.
With this objective , we made the decision to put together a donation to commemorate International Women’s Day.
